Membership

The Economics Teachers' Association of Western Australia (ETAWA) aims to

  • promote and extend Economics Education in Western Australia
  • provide a means for the exchange of ideas on the teaching of economics
  • act as a body representative of teachers of economics
  • publish and make available materials of interest and value to teachers of economics
  • maintain liaison with professional associations of teachers of economics, plus other professional and academic bodies; and,
  • undertake any other activities aimed at promoting and supporting the teaching of economics.

Membership Fees
Individual membership – $40.00 per annum
Institution membership – $100.00 per annum

Resources

Three editions of the Economics Update distributed to members annually. This publication contains information on a range of topics including, articles on current issues in economics, teaching resources and ideas, example assessments, student competitions and informative articles contributed by teacher members, student members and others involved in the field of economics. A revision guide "Study Economics in a Week" is also published annually. Further information from adt@scotch.wa.edu.au.

Professional Development

Economics Conference
The annual conference is held towards the end of term 2 each year with presenters from industry, government and academia.

Teacher seminars
A number of seminars and workshops are held each year to help members keep abreast of current issues in respect to the Australia economy and developments concerning the teaching of economics.

Student seminars
Examination preparation and revision seminars are conducted to help in the lead up to the major examination.
